The state Duma adopted the law on raising the minimum wage to 7800 rubles – RBC

the state Duma in the second and third reading adopted a bill to raise the minimum wage (SMIC) from 1 July 2017 to 4%. It will be increased from 7500 to 7800 rubles, reports “Interfax”.

In the explanatory note to the bill noted that increasing the minimum wage will affect 0,93 million workers, of which over 70% — employees of state and municipal institutions.

According to the authors of the bill, raising the minimum wage will contribute to the increase of payments of insurance premiums, increasing the effective demand for domestically produced goods, as well as lower levels of pay “grey” salaries.
