Putin Ostrowski agreed and ordered him to serve until elections September. “Indeed, the results you have, so I agree,” – said the head of state.

Born in Moscow, Ostrovsky – a member of the Liberal Democratic Party. In his youth he worked in the newspaper “Moskovsky Komsomolets”, and then worked in the press service of the LDPR. Since 2003 – the deputy of the State Duma of Russia, where in April 2012, went to the Smolensk region in place of the retired Sergey Antufeva.

Smolensk region became the 20th region where elections will be held in September, the head of the region. Earlier, several sources close to the leadership of the presidential administration, told RBC that only the Kremlin planned to spend this year’s gubernatorial elections in about 20 regions.
