Martial law may be introduced after the Verkhovna Rada approves a decree of the President

Ukrainian President Poroshenko signed a law on the legal regime of martial law, according to Tass.

The document notes that “the military situation – a special legal regime, which is introduced in Ukraine or its separate territories in the event of armed aggression or threat of aggression, the presence of danger to the state independence of Ukraine and its territorial integrity.” Martial law may be introduced after the Verkhovna Rada approved a decree of the president of the country.

Also, the introduction of martial law will automatically enter the labor service for the labor force, allowing expropriation of property, ban meetings and rallies, unwanted activity of political parties, media regulation, forced expropriation, which is private or municipal property, curfews, restrictions on freedom of movement of citizens and beyond.
