Former Deputy Foreign Minister of Egypt promised to publish a book written with Primakov – a REGNUM

Cairo, 28 June 2015, 19:33 – REGNUM Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt Reda Shehata intends to publish on their own a book about the relations of Russia and the Middle East, on which he recently worked together with the famous orientalist Yevgeny Primakov. On it informs RIA “Novosti».

“I’ll make this project in honor of my friend, whose memory will forever remain in the history of Egyptian-Russian relations”, – said the Egyptian diplomat, noting that Primakov “occupied a special place for politicians and the peoples of the Middle East.

According to Shehata, Primakov was a thinker, one of the greatest experts on the issues of the Arab region.

Yevgeny Primakov, passed away June 26 at the age of 86. Soviet and Russian economist, orientalist-Arabist, politician and statesman, doctor of economic sciences, professor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Primakov was the chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1989-1990, in 1991 – the head of the Central Intelligence Service of the USSR, 1991 to 1996 – Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, from 1996 to 1998 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation from 1998 to 1999 – Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation from 2001 to 2011 – President of the Chamber of Commerce of Russia.
