In Moscow the funeral of Yevgeny Primakov – Ekho Moskvy radio station

The former Russian prime minister was buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.

The farewell ceremony was over about 3 hours ago in the Hall of Columns. With Yevgeny Primakov came to say goodbye Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker and the State Duma, as well as the widow of Russia’s first president, Naina Yeltsin, the first president of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev. Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking about Primakov, described him as a great citizen. He said that the former prime minister “always thinking about the fate of Russia, worked and lived for the sake of its development, for the sake of its prosperity.” At the end of the ceremony’s grandson Yevgeny Primakov journalist Sandro asked those present to carry out the deceased applause. Then the coffin was taken to the Novodevichy cemetery. The funeral service was held in the temple Primakov Beheading of St. John the Baptist of the Novodevichy Convent. The ceremony was held Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. Primakov was buried with military honors: the sound of artillery salute and the national anthem of the coffin was lowered into the grave.

Yevgeny Primakov, died June 26 after a long illness. He was 85 years old.
