Putin presented the pope with a mural depicting Christ the Savior Cathedral – RIA Novosti

President Vladimir Putin presented the pontiff panels depicting Christ the Savior Cathedral and several volumes of the Orthodox Encyclopedia. Take a look at the video as the Russian leader and the Pope exchanged gifts.

Vladimir Putin visited the Vatican on Wednesday. At the ceremony of exchanging gifts pontiff gave the Russian delegation medal with the image of an angel peacemaker works by the artist of the last century. The Russian side, in turn, presented the Vatican panels depicting Christ the Savior Cathedral and several volumes of the Orthodox Encyclopedia.

President Dmitry Medvedev meets with pope lasted more than an hour, the sides discussed the situation in the world, including the crisis in Ukraine, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.

Putin and Pope Francis last met in November 2013, and the Russian delegation took part in celebrations to mark the beginning of the pontificate of Francis in March 2013, while the delegation was led by State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin.
