MOSCOW, June 15 – RIA Novosti. The decision to send a request to the Constitutional Court may adopt a simple majority of the Council of the Federation, ie at least 86 senators, it follows from the rules of the upper house.

It is planned that the senators will decide what constitutes a request to the court to be the head of the constitutional committee of the House Andrew Klishas.

The leaders of Duma factions EP, CP and the Liberal Democratic Party and former Speaker of the House introduced a bill to postpone the elections to the Duma from December to September. The Federation Council has decided to send a request to the Constitutional Court that it has confirmed the admissibility of the transfer. Consideration of this issue in the upper house is expected on June 24.

According to the rules, the basis for the preparation of proposals for the Council of the Federation in the Constitutional Court is, inter alia, “discovered uncertainty in understanding the provisions of the constitution.” The draft request means that the senators went to court because of the uncertainty in understanding whether the Constitution excludes the possibility of transfer of the Duma elections, so that the duration of the powers of the Duma “on a monthly basis decreased slightly or increased relative to 60 months, the calendar comparable to the constitutionally established five years “

After the Constitutional Court to decide on the request of the Federation Council, it should be reported to the Senate at the next sitting of the House after the receipt of the court decision.
