The Moscow City Court upheld the extension of the house arrest of oppositionist Alexei Navalny on the case of “Yves Rocher” until mid-February.
The appeal lawyers opposition politician dismissed.
Bulk personally was in the courtroom, his brother Oleg participated in meeting via video.
“I was under the house arrest on February 28, now do not think that I’m under it, “- told the court Bulk.
The complaint Alexei Navalny was stated that he had no intention of hiding, and house arrest perceives as insulation from political activity. In turn, the prosecutor disagreed with voice Navalny defense arguments and asked to dismiss the complaint.
December 19 Zamoskvoretskiy Moscow court extended the restrictions on freedom of Alexei Navalny until February 14. Opposition brother Oleg was at that time under house arrest.
December sentence
Bulk Brothers were sentenced to 3.5 years for stealing 26 million rubles from company “Yves Rocher East” and another 4 million rubles from “Multidisciplinary processing company”.
The penalty Alexei – conditional, and his brother Oleg will have to serve his sentence in a real colony. The sentence has not yet entered into force, lawyers and prosecutors to appeal it.
After the verdict Alexei Navalny said he did not intend to fulfill the conditions of house arrest, as he considers them illegal.
This is not the first criminal trial for opposition leader Alexei Navalny: before he was sentenced to five years probation for stealing from the state-owned enterprises “Kirovles”.
Then the politician also rejected all charges, considering the case was fabricated.
