Holiday Pancake week ends with a day that Orthodox Christians is called Forgiveness Sunday. It is preceded by Lent, which begins after Easter. On the day before the beginning of Lent believers ask each other for forgiveness for wittingly or unwittingly caused resentment TASS reported.
On the day of Forgiveness Sunday, Patriarch Kirill celebrated in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior two services – morning and evening. In the first week of Lent, he will make two daily worship in Moscow monasteries and temples.
In all the churches of Russia on this day will be organized to raise funds to help the residents of the south-east of Ukraine and refugees. The church will continue to provide targeted assistance to those refugees who are most in need: large families, the disabled, seriously ill, lonely and elderly people.
