The pilgrimage of the relics in Poland is an event without precedent, because every day access to them is very limited. Mount Athos, where they are stored, only men are allowed. What’s more, pilgrims can stay there for a maximum of three days.
– Same relics in the main temple monastery Simonopetra are at the altar, where not everyone has access – tells Fr. Jacob Dmitruk of Lodz church. – The relics leave the monastery only the second time, the first time this was done within the limits of the Greek State.
In boats welcome the relics will have an ecumenical character. This underlines the fact that Mary Magdalene is not only a holy Orthodox Church.
– This is a good time to show people that more unites us than divides us – adds Fr. Dmitruk.
To Lodz relics of the Holy Cross and Saint-hand. Mary Magdalene arrive on Friday afternoon and remain in the church until Saturday.
