Day of Russia – one of the youngest state holidays in Russia. On this day, June 12, 1990 the first Congress of People’s Deputies of the RSFSR adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Russia. The official name – “Day of Russia” – was assigned to the celebration in 2002.
