MOSCOW, 29 Jan — RIA Novosti. Lithuanian Parliament Linas, Balsis during the conference “the World in 2017. The view from Vilnius”, said that the EU needs to discuss the issue of “return” of Kaliningrad in Europe, and the post-war borders have lost their legal force, writes news portal three Lebanese source.lt.

According to Balsys, Russia lost the right to the Kaliningrad region after the “annexation” of the Crimea, and now the status of the nationality of the lands of the former East Prussia needs to be discussed at the international level.

“Kaliningrad Time is over. Kaliningrad was not in Potsdam or Helsinki given to Russia in perpetuity. It was said: give under the administration of the USSR until, while in Europe will not sign the final peace Treaty”, — quotes the words of the Deputy of the online edition.

Previously, a similar idea has already been voiced by Lithuanian political analyst, now a member of the Seimas Laurynas Kasciunas.

the Transition of Kaliningrad (until 1946 — königsberg) and other territories of East Prussia under the jurisdiction of the USSR was approved by the allies at the Potsdam conference. The final status of the region was established by the law of the allied Control Council for Germany “On liquidation of the Prussian state”, dated 25 February 1947.

the Crimea and Sevastopol received the status of subjects of the Russian Federation on the results of a referendum held in March 2014, in which 96.77% of the inhabitants of the Republic and 95.6% of Sevastopol voted in favor of joining Russia.
