MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. The Congress of “United Russia” has re-elected Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev the Chairman of the party.

According to the Charter “an United Russia” the Chairman may be elected the citizen of the Russian Federation is not a member of the party. The head of the party may convene an extraordinary Congress or of the extraordinary meetings of the Supreme and General councils and the Presidium of the General Council.

He is also entitled to suspend the powers of members of the Central bodies of the party governing bodies and structural divisions of “United Russia” to suspend the decisions of the governing and Central bodies (with the exception of the decisions of the party Congress). The powers of the President can be terminated in the case of voluntary addition from itself powers, and in the case of such a decision by Congress.

Gryzlov was reelected Chairman of the Bureau of the Supreme Council
