In Russia are developing hypersonic weapons of fundamentally new materials – TASS

MOSCOW, January 19. /TASS/. Russia is developing a hypersonic weapon with the use of new materials, said Deputy defense Minister Yuri Borisov.

“On the way hypersonic weapon, which requires the use of innovative materials and management systems, which work completely in a different environment, in the plasma,” said Borisov reporters.

According to him, the army stands at the turn of the next scientific and technological revolution, are replaced by fundamentally different weapons systems, which are based on physical principles not previously used in this field.

“On the way completely different principles of operations management troops, because today who will learn to find the enemy, to issue targeting and hit – and all this must be done in real time – that, in fact, wins,” – said Borisov.

Also, according to him, the Ministry of defense expects a major breakthrough in the field of laser and electromagnetic weapons. “Interaction between the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of defense has specific goals, primarily in development and technical ideas. Especially, we expect a major breakthrough in the field of laser topics, electromagnetic weapons and so on,” – said Borisov. According to him, it is necessary to make a drastic effort to remedy the fundamental basis on which military science can create fundamentally new types of weapons.

“We (RAS) agreed on the workplan. On the one hand, our officers are learning in the truest sense of the word, for they formed special courses. Typically, meetings of representatives of the Ministry of defense and Russian Academy of Sciences are held once a quarter. The initiator of the communication scientists and the military in the fourth made by the defense Ministry, said Borisov. Cooperation of RAS and the Ministry of defence was fixed on 8 September 2015, when Minister of defense Sergei Shoigu, head of the FANO Michael kotyukov and FORTS have signed an Agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of defense, FANO and wounds. “This framework agreement”, – said Borisov.

One of the main principles of cooperation stated “integration of fundamental and applied scientific research in the interests of ensuring the defense of the state, the transition to extensive use of the existing scientific and scientific-technical results for developing advanced weapons, military and special equipment and development of military technologies.”

In accordance with this document, Russian Academy of Sciences and scientific organizations subordinated to FANO can use the test centers, proving grounds of the defense Ministry. All parties to the agreement also agreed to constantly monitor the results of scientific studies to identify “major scientific, technical and technological developments with a view to their use in interests of development of advanced and modernization of existing samples of armament, military and special equipment, search of new forms and methods of armed struggle.”
