Homeless in the emergency Department of the centre for social adaptation “Lublin”

MOSCOW, January 27. /TASS/. The memory of a famous philanthropist, physician and public figure Elizabeth Glinka, known as Dr. Lisa, immortalized in the title of the largest Metropolitan centre of social assistance to the homeless. This was reported on Friday at the mayor of Moscow.
“After the death of Dr. Lisa in a plane crash over the Black sea to the management and staff of the center “LJUBLINO” has addressed to city authorities with the request to name the facility in her name. The proposal was supported. The city interdepartmental Commission on naming territorial units, approved a new name for the center for homeless”, – stated in the message.
Elizaveta Glinka for many years worked closely with the center for social adaptation (CSA) Lyublino for persons without fixed residence and occupation. It is administered by the city Department of labour and social protection. In this facility the homeless help to restore the documents if they were lost, to find work and return to normal life.
On the streets of Moscow also operates a mobile service for homeless citizens “Social patrol”. Its staff is working on identifying the homeless, help them find accommodation, organize the food.
Elizaveta Petrovna Glinka (1962 – 2016) – social activist and a specialist in the field of palliative medicine. In 2007, she founded the international public organization “Fair use”, which provides financial support and medical assistance to the sick, the homeless. The last few years, she helped evacuate children from zones of military conflicts, including for treatment in Russia. 25 December 2016 Dr. Lisa died tragically in the crash of Tu-154 over the Black sea that claimed the lives of 92 people. Glinka was accompanied by humanitarian aid to Syrian hospitals.
In honor of Elizabeth Glinka, who made a great contribution to the development of charity in Russia as the military children’s clinical sanatorium in Yevpatoria.
