MOSCOW, January 26. /TASS/. Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation on issues of development of the Internet Herman Klimenko did not offer to use in Russia the Chinese experience of Internet regulation to ensure information security. This he told TASS.
According to Klimenko, during the lecture “Information security of Russia” in the framework of the course “Army and society” he just talked about existing world practices.
“actually, I was just told that the world’s regulatory mechanisms. I mean, what if the Internet is limited, to ensure the safety of easier. Speeches about how to limit the Internet in Russia as in China, was not” – he said.
Earlier media reported that the President’s adviser suggested to ensure information security to restrict the Internet, as is done in China.
Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Volin stressed that the question of the “Chinese firewall” is not. “It is not necessary to pull a quote Klimenko out of context and subject to interpretation.
