NATO stated that they are ready to establish constructive relations with Russia – TVNZ

NATO spokesman Oana Lungesku said that the alliance does not pose a threat to Russia and is ready to establish a constructive relationship.

– NATO poses no threat to Russia and to any nation. Any steps taken by NATO to ensure the safety of its members are clearly defensive, proportionate and consistent with international law, – she said.

Lungesku also stressed that the unit strengthened relations with Moscow over two decades and will continue to do next , RIA Novosti reported.

The other day the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law abolishing the non-aligned status – with a view to further rapprochement with NATO. According to the representative of the Russian Federation in the alliance Grushko, this law does not only harm the security in Europe, but will not solve the problems of Ukraine itself.

And the Russian Foreign Ministry said it, that further NATO enlargement to the east will directly affect national the interests of Russia and force it to retaliate.
