MOSCOW, February 25. / TASS /. The draft law, equating major news services to the media and obliging them responsible for the accuracy of the published information, submitted to the Duma. What does the bill

“The provisions of the bill provide for the laying of the owner of the news aggregator responsibility for the information disseminated by them, including in the case, if it is a literal reproduction of reports and materials or their fragments disseminated by mass media”, – stated in the accompanying documents.

In this regard, it provides for the establishment and maintenance of a registry Roscomnadzor news aggregators. In the event that on a news aggregator falsification of publicly important information, dissemination of false socially important news information under the guise of authentic reports, as well as in violation of the law public authorities may apply to the Roskomnadzor a reasonable requirement to take measures to stop the spread of such information, according to the the explanatory memorandum.

at the same time prohibits the possession of the news aggregator of foreign states, international organizations, as well as under their control organizations, foreign legal entities Russian legal entities with foreign participation, foreign citizens, stateless persons, citizens RF having the citizenship of another state. “In addition, the share of these persons in the authorized capital of the entity, a party (member, shareholder) of the news aggregator of the owner is limited to 20 percent”, – stated in the accompanying documents

The bill also required the owners of the news aggregators to bring its founding. documents in compliance with the requirements of the bill for 6 months from the inclusion date to Roskomnadzor registry.
