Russia’s Supreme Court reduced the sentence to the former employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate Gennady Kravtsov, convicted on charges of treason. Kravtsov’s sentence was reduced from 14 to 6.
Thus, the Court partially granted the appeal of protection Kravtsov, which required a complete reversal of the conviction. “Miracles do happen, albeit in truncated form,” – said Kravtsov Interfax lawyer Ivan Pavlov.
“We will continue to work on the case, as insisting on his full acquittal,” – he added.
Kravtsov pleaded not guilty. Since the start of his trial defense insists on the absence of corpus delicti Kravtsov action.
The hearing on the case took place behind closed doors.
